Image Cabin is software that aims to realize that "Let's keep the image in your own hands."
Image Cabin stores the image as a file in the disk area allocated as the area for Image Cabin from iOS by the conventional save method as "Disk - Directory - File".
When transferring an image from an iPhone album to Image Cabin, the image is converted to either PNG format or JPEG format.
Then the image is saved as a png or jpeg file.
・ Number of files that can be handled
・ Number of directories that can be created
・ Number of transfers between iPhone album - Image Cabin (number of conversions)
There are no restrictions on these.
However, subdirectories (child directories) cannot be created.
If you do, you can convert all the images in your iPhone album to PNG or JPEG files at once, and store them in Image Cabin.
In addition, it is possible to create and decompress archive files in uncompressed Zip format.
A large number of images can be handled easily and reliably.
It is possible to combine iPhone album images into a single Zip file and save it to another cloud.
For example, suppose your iPhone album has 1.000 images.
iPhone Albums
--> Image Cabin directory
--> Zip
--> Export to cloud etc.
In this way, you can easily save the image in iPhone albums to another cloud etc.
Conversely, it is also possible to send an uncompressed Zip file to Image Cabin and extract the uncompressed Zip file at once using Image Cabin.
However, Image Cabin uses Zip files only as archives.
Compression and decompression of the compressed version are not performed by Image Cabin.
Image Cabin only handles uncompressed Zip.
png files and jpeg files are hardly compressed.
This is because the png and jpeg files themselves are already compressed.
It doesn't compress much if you compress it again.
In Image Cabin, there are no restrictions on the number or size of archive files in the uncompressed Zip format.
It can handle up to the disk limit.
Zip files created by Image Cabin conform to the Zip specification.
Mac, Windows, etc., can be unpacked and the images inside can be extracted.
Uncompressed Zip files created with software that follows the Zip standard, including software for desktop machines, should be able to be extracted with Image Cabin.
[please note]
Image Cabin does not handle "excluded information such as Exif information" at all.
When you handle images with Image Cabin, "Exif information and other incidental information" will be lost completely.
For this reason, if you are in trouble if the "Exif information or other incidental information" is lost, do not transfer the image to the Image Cabin.
[please note 2]
Image Cabin does not handle images in the cloud, including iCloud and PhotoStream, and images on online servers.
All operations are performed on the iPhone.
Because of these specifications, Image Cabin does not automatically back up to the cloud.
